Do It Digital Campaign Launched

do it digital logoChiltern Chamber supports the Small Business Saturday initiative, which falls on the first Saturday of December. But what of the rest of the year – surely the message is equally relevant throughout the year?

Reflecting this, the ‘Do It Digital’ campaign has been launched by the Small Business Saturday team, kicking off 2016 with ‘100 Days of Digital’, from December 23rd 2015 to March 31st 2016.

‘Do It Digital’, an independent, not-for-profit campaign, focuses on promoting assistance to small business owners. It aims to help the digitally un-engaged take their first steps online. It will also encourage those already online to expand their digital horizons further.

The initiative will positively promote the benefits of digital engagement for small businesses, from a simple web presence to taking the first steps towards selling online. Digital engagement is crucial for all aspects of business, from marketing and recruitment to banking and accounting. Digital engagement will become increasingly central to the development of competitive, profitable and growing businesses.

The ‘100 Days of Digital’ web site (www.doitdigital.co.uk) features a calendar with a different hint every day as to where small businesses can find digital help and resources.

Today’s hint (27th December), for instance, is:

Day 5 of the ‪#‎100daysofdigital‬ is HMRC.

The portal of free small business tools on their website offers free webinars, video tutorials & live Twitter Q&As (available via Twitter with @HMRCbusiness) as well as email sign-ups for business advice & e-learning – really useful if you’re setting up a small business or thinking about doing so in the New Year!

You can also check out their blogs on digital marketing and learn about maximising Twitter, Inc. for your business amongst many things – visit their website via the link below.

For small businesses owners looking for digital help and support, there is a free helpline – 03300 103300 – which will be manned between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday by staff from Happus, a Caerphilly-based IT business. Alternatively, email enquiries can be sent to DoItDigital@happus.eu.

But instead of going to Wales for support, why not buy local? The Chamber has numerous members providing varied services in the digital sphere. You can browse our members and their services on our Members List page. In addition, throughout 2016, the Chamber will be hosting a number of digital-themed workshops. We look forward to seeing you there!
